Made of porous titanium, OsteoSinter Evans and Cotton implants promote rapid osseointegration of the surrounding bone and are used in Evans and Cotton osteotomies for flatfoot correction.
They are made of porous titanium (62-66% of volume), which promotes osseointegration of the surrounding bone.
OsteoSinter Evans and Cotton implants are most often used in two procedures:
The Evans osteotomy procedure, for lengthening the lateral column of the foot;
The Cotton procedure, to increase the tilt of the first ray and prevent overloading of the outer column of the foot. In practical terms, this surgical procedure helps restore the arch of the foot.
When OsteoSinter Evans and Cotton plates can be used
Open-wedge osteotomies of the foot bones (including additional osteotomies for Hallux Valgus)
Open-wedge osteotomies with a medial approach to the cuneiform bones (Cotton osteotomy)
Lengthening of the lateral column of the foot (Evans osteotomy or Z-osteotomy of the calcaneus)
Metatarsal/cuneiform arthrodesis.
