Under the Codman brand (Codman Specialty Surgical), the company offers one of the most comprehensive ranges of neurosurgical solutions — from dural regeneration matrices (DuraGen®) and synthetic dural sealants (DuraSeal®) to programmable valves for hydrocephalus management (CERTAS™ Plus).
Its flagship product, DuraSeal®, is an absorbable synthetic dural sealant — a polyethylene glycol (PEG) based hydrogel — used as an adjunct to dural suturing for a watertight closure. Originally developed by Confluent Surgical (later Covidien) and introduced to the European market in 2005, DuraSeal® is today part of the Integra portfolio and is, alongside the spinal version DuraSeal® Exact, among the few dural sealants approved for both cranial and spinal surgery.
